Finally, Gamergate gets a more worthy foe than Anita Sarkeesian and Felicia Day

Nintendo unveiled their ad revenue plans for Youtube. In a nut shell, Nintendo will be able to take at least 30%-40% of your ad revenue, which that number can change at any time, and it will might take up to 3 days for them to approve the content. Wait… so now Nintendo has to approve your video that tears The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword apart, and they profit off of it? WHAT?! for a more precise rundown of this, here’s the Kotaku link to the article that brought this to my attention: http://kotaku.com/nintendos-youtube-plan-is-already-being-panned-by-youtu-1682527904

Well played Nintendo, well played.

Seriously, this is a serious problem, unless you are someone like the hilarious Ego Raptor, who can easily review an entire game while showing zero footage from a game and still be entertaining.

While fans have already argued that this is not a great deal, I have yet to see anyone directly connect this with gamergate, but the video Kotaku shares from Geek Remix, does loosely connect ethics violations around the 1:21 mark on her video.

Youtuber boogie2988 months ago mentioned that this is a tax, and ultimately this move is bad for everyone. His video can be found below.

What the hell Nintendo? I was about to buy your console with my tax return. Now? I just don’t know anymore.
