I only recently became aware of My Bride is a Mermaid. It is an anime that was released in 2010 by in North America by Funimation, and is about a boy who visits his grandmother in the country side, and ends up being saved from drowning by a mermaid… who as it turns out, her father is Yakuza… and also a merman? I’ve seen the first two episodes thus far, and the show looks pretty cool. When a mermaid is on dry land, they walk on two legs like a human, but when they are splashed with water, they transform back into a mermaid until they dry out. This anime appears to be more like Fruit’s Basket when it comes to hilarious transformation sequences than Ranma 1/2. After I finish watching this show next week, expect a more detailed review!
