Sort of, but not really? Apparently this year there will be a direct to DVD movie called Batman and Harley Quinn. In it, they have cast Big Bang Theory actress Melissa Rauch as Harley!
I was first weird about Harley’s voice in the video for it, as the animation is mostly in the style of Batman The Animated Series’ WB run, and the voice actors are the ones used from that TV show as well, at least for Batman and Nightwing. While I am a huge Arleen Sorkin fan, part of me is happy that the role for this movie went to such a talented actress as Rauch. I’m also surprised that it did not go to any of the other voice actresses to voice her in the past such as Tara Strong or Jenny Slate.
You know what? This Waifu Wednesday is not HQ at all, but Bernadette from Big Bang Theory.
Rushing this out because I almost forgot to post on MerMonday, but I have a few minutes left! Anyways, here are a few awesome pics! Make sure to visit their respective deviant artists to let them know what you think!

No no, Amy Pascal was not going to remove Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, do not worry. Apparently the former head of Sony’s movie division had more feminist plans in mind than that. One that has a sad ending for Peter Parker, but one that makes way for a new hero for the franchise to follow.
The third movie was to take place after both The Sinister Six movie as well as Venom’s movie. During those two movies, the concept of the multiverse would have been brought up, and new characters would have popped up in hopes to making new super heroes.
According to the previous Sony hack, Pascal had plans to have Spider-Man transform into Man-Spider by Venom’s solo movie. Mary Jane Watson was going to show up in Venom, and was going to be pivotal in Amazing Spider-Man 3. In ASM3, MJ was to have been bitten by Man-Spider, only to be saved by Kraven The Hunter.
Pascal wanted a Spider-Woman, and due to Marvel still owning the character Jessica Drew, they had to create one. Due to MJ’s popularity, she was going to become Spider-Woman in the third act in order to stop Peter’s man-spidery rampage, only to have to euthanize Peter by the very end.
While this would have been a sad ending for the trilogy, people at Marvel urged her to do an after credits sequence that mirrored their 2006 storyline, The Other, where a resurrected Peter bursts out of his cocooned dead body confused but alive. Pascal in e-mails said no, and that it was time to step out of the super hero patriarchy, and that MJ was the future of the series.
Sadly, Pascal is no longer at Sony and Marvel sort of is in charge now of The Spider-Man movies. It would have been interesting to watch how this would have all played out.
With Digital Eclipse Software/Capcom’s Disney Afternoon Collection, 6 classic NES games have come to Sony’s console. Not that we are keeping track or anything, but those 6 plus the 6 from Digital Eclipse Software/Capcom’s Mega Man Legacy Collection make that number at least 12 NES games to Nintendo Switch’s virtual console… not existing. Oh, and that means that Xbox One has even more considering it has all of that plus whatever is on Rare Replay… Snake Rattle ‘n’ Roll and whatever else is on there.
Right now, we have no idea if the virtual console games that we own on Wii and Wii U will even transfer onto Nintendo Switch. Because of this and other reasons, I refuse to support Nintendo’s latest console.
All we do know thus far is that Switch’s Virtual Console will allow some sort of online play with old NES and SNES games, and that when it is eventually rolled out that they will let you try out one of those types of VC games for free, each game for a month and then it’s a different game. This is unlike say… Games with Gold that let’s you keep said game as long as you have an online subscription, or Playstation Plus’ service.
So… SNES Classic is coming out one day maybe. Maybe Nintendo will unveil their grand master plan once everyone can’t just walk into a store and buy one of those?
The NES Classic Edition was very sought after, rare, and now very much discontinued. It was very popular but Nintendo only enough product at launch to MAYBE match 1% of some town’s population. That’s terrible. It was popular, maybe was restocked a few times, and then… Pfff… now everyone is talking about a possible upcoming SNES Classic Edition. WHY?!
Let’s back up for a moment, all right? Nintendo could emulate all of these games, easily, on Wii U or Switch… so just release them on a disc, a cart, or just a download. Hell, sell them with a download code bundled with one NES classic controller for the price of the entire system, $60! Come on Nintendo!
So, now if there is an SNES Classic Edition, my predictions is that, if it has as many games as the NES Classic, which there is no guarantee that it will since SNES games are a higher value on Nintendo’s Virtual Console, here is what I predict will come out, in no particular order:
Super Castlevania IV(Konami)
Final Fantasy II (IV) (Square Enix)
Chrono Trigger (Square Enix)
Super Mario World (Nintendo)
Megaman 7 (Capcom)
Super Metroid (Nintendo)
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to The Past (Nintendo)
Kirby Dreamland 3 (Hal)
Star Fox (Nintendo)
Mario Kart (Nintendo)
Breath of Fire (Capcom)
Bust a move (Taito/Square)
Street Fighter II (Capcom)
Earthworm Jim (Shiny Entertainment)
Fatal Fury Special (SNK)
Final Fantasy Mystic Quest (Square Enix)
Harvest Moon (Natsume)
Megaman X (Capcom)
NBA Jam (Midway)
Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen (Square Enix)
Pocky & Rocky (Natsume)
Pop’n TwinBee (Konami)
Samurai Shodown (SNK)
Soul Blazer (Square Enix)
Street Fighter Alpha 2 (Capcom)
Super Mario RPG (Square Enix)
As you can tell, I am not excited about a future rare SNES Classic Edition. If one comes out, I might buy an SNES classic controller for $10 maybe, but that’s it. Release this for consoles we have and please start treating us like humans and not the ravenous collection monsters you think we are.
One of the things that I love about Darkstalkers is the fact that there are still moves in the game that I have never seen before. I was searching for Anakaris’ curse where he turns Morrigan into a bat and other characters into small animals or dolls etc… and instead I found his Pharaoh Decoration… which combines the best of Demitri’s Midnight Bliss move and Anakaris’ Pharaoh Curse. If I had known that this move was a thing, I’d have been doing this the entire time.
You know, I used to argue that Capcom was full of it when they said that The Darkstalkers characters transform too much in their game and that that was why they did not want to make a new game… but now I am starting to believe them.
I have often mentioned my love of Capcom fighting games, especially Darkstalkers. One of the moves that I really love, is The Midnight Bliss, but my second favorite move is Lilith’s Gloomy Puppet Show. In this move she… well… just look at it? She turns into a bunny girl and forces characters to be her puppet! It’s amazing! At the 1:03 mark of this video from youtube channel Darkstalkers shows it off.
The reason that I show this is… guess why? Bunny Girl? Maybe… THE FACT THAT IT IS STILL EASTER MONDAY IN CANADA?! Definitely. It’s hard to find this toy of Lilith, and I’m not sure if there has been one or two versions of it, as this other picture of it looks to have a different face.
This might just be taken from a different angle and thus looks different. Now, Lilith and Morrigan have different moves outside of the ones that are similar but still not the same. Morrigan Aensland, who is more… ahem… mature appearing, has never been a bunny girl. This is important to note as Lilith, canonically to Darkstalkers, doesn’t exist outside of being a part of Morrigan. If they ever make a real Darkstalkers sequel, will Morrigan don the bunny girl outfit in order to do The Gloomy Puppet Show. Deviant artist jaksonstoker has done a Morrigan version of the sprites below:
Cosplayer feytacos has cosplayed as this version of Lilith before, and I definitely suggest taking a look.
Another awesome one is Olivias-Atelier‘s cosplay of The Gloomy Puppet Show.
I really hope that Capcom does something with both the character Lilith as well as the game universe that is Darkstalkers. Lilith is apparently playing a big role in Udon’s Street Fighter vs. Darkstalkers comic line, so here is hoping that maybe we will see Udon’s take on her being a bunny girl sometime in the near future?
