With Digital Eclipse Software/Capcom’s Disney Afternoon Collection, 6 classic NES games have come to Sony’s console. Not that we are keeping track or anything, but those 6 plus the 6 from Digital Eclipse Software/Capcom’s Mega Man Legacy Collection make that number at least 12 NES games to Nintendo Switch’s virtual console… not existing. Oh, and that means that Xbox One has even more considering it has all of that plus whatever is on Rare Replay… Snake Rattle ‘n’ Roll and whatever else is on there.
Right now, we have no idea if the virtual console games that we own on Wii and Wii U will even transfer onto Nintendo Switch. Because of this and other reasons, I refuse to support Nintendo’s latest console.
All we do know thus far is that Switch’s Virtual Console will allow some sort of online play with old NES and SNES games, and that when it is eventually rolled out that they will let you try out one of those types of VC games for free, each game for a month and then it’s a different game. This is unlike say… Games with Gold that let’s you keep said game as long as you have an online subscription, or Playstation Plus’ service.
So… SNES Classic is coming out one day maybe. Maybe Nintendo will unveil their grand master plan once everyone can’t just walk into a store and buy one of those?
